Soooo….what’s been goin’ on?
Lots of rallies, plays and other events to fight the good fight against hydro-fracking from Philly to New York City, and Upstate all the way to Colorado.
Fund raisers to help in the wake of Irene devastation including the huge bash at Bearsville Theater. It was a joyous, sold out event. A great evening in many ways. I got to play with a bunch of my fav’s including Garth Hudson, John Sebastian and Happy Traum just to name a few. We raised the roof and a bunch of money, too.
After playing for the Democrats in Kingston this Saturday afternoon, the Common Ground Coffeehouse in Hastings on the Hudson that night and Friends of the Clearwater on Sunday afternoon, I’m packing’ up the car and heading out for the Pensacola Songwriters Festival. While I’m in Florida I’m make a couple stops at two of my favorite roadhouses…Frog and Hummingbird/Butterfield’s in Sopchoppy and the Mockingbird in Tallahassee.
Home for a few days and then off for about six weeks that’ll include stops in Pennsylvania, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, California, New Mexico, Arizona and Tennessee.
Then back home for a Thanksgiving weekend show at the Bearsville Theater on Saturday, November 26. I hope you’ll plan to make that show if you’re anywhere near Woodstock.
By the way, the main photo on the website was taken on the Zena cornfield in Woodstock on the day we shot the ‘I Love You Rachel Maddow’ video. I love that spot. And I find it wonderfully poetic that no one’s grown corn there for decades, but it’s still the Zena cornfield.
Finally, I’m working on a new CD with Happy Traum, Amy Fradon, Julie Last, Mike Esposito, Warren Bernhardt, and John Sebastian adding their wonderful touches. Working title is ‘Live Bait’.
As my dear friend, Dan Mountain, is fond of saying in his sign off…
Love and all that jazz…
