Marc Black & Amy Fradon duet
Marc Black and Amy Fradon have been making music together ever since they connected years ago in Woodstock, NY. Their connection is a friendship that’s both musical and spiritual.
Marc’s songs seem to effortlessly glide between humor, social awareness and tenderness…with subjects that range from his love for Rachel Maddow to his obsession with good coffee. His No Fracking Way has become a worldwide anthem.
Amy has sung all around the world with the Vanaver Caravan, Face The Music and in her duet with Leslie Ritter. She is a much sought after session singer, adding her pitch perfect harmonies to CDs by the legendary Dr. John, The Fugs and Livingston Taylor. She is also an ordained Interfaith Minister and using the study of voice as a vehicle for personal transformation.
Marc and Amy feature harmonies that are colorful and precise while still leaving plenty room for improvisation. Neither one is afraid to go out onto a musical limb in service to the Muse!
Marc and Amy have just begun performing as a duet and they’ve already been featured at the Fringe Festival of Woodstock and the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY. and on recordings with John Sebastian and Happy Traum. They are now honored to be singing at SERFA as formal showcase artists.
Amy and Marc are looking forward to touring together starting in the Autumn of 2013.
Here’s a sweet duet off a recent CD that’s getting quite a bit of airplay: Pretty One .
“Amy Fradon is a natural down-home folk singer who doesn’t just sing her heart out. She puts in the very essence of her entire being, with a beautiful, larger than life voice. Amy lifts you straight up into a higher plane where a song can become a truly moving, spiritual experience.” – Frank Matheis, WKZE
“Black carves something beautiful and human out of life’s rawest emotions. A calm passion resonates throughout his performance.” –J.D. GOLDSMITH, Pulse Magazine
