What’s Ancient Never Gets Old

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Ahead, all recorded music is in the clouds. All stored there, just waiting for us to tune in. All you need is to know where the cloud door is, how to get in and join the party.

CD’s are fast becoming quaint trinkets. Local hard drives, too. Hip yesterday, antique today.

But I’ve noticed that what’s ancient about music, never gets old. A man singing his heart out. A group of women weaving beautiful harmonies. Each sharing their stories, their truths and their lies. This is universal and as constant as any experience in human culture.

So let records, tapes and CD’s come and go. And don’t worry ’bout a thing. You and I came here to celebrate. Carry on, my friends. Carry on.
